Being sensitive to the various religious inclinations and dietary requirements of its customers, MACS pursued HALAL certification as mandated by the country's Executive Order (EO) 122-A.

The 1Q of 2003 paved the way towards the Company's HALAL certification. Close coordination with the Office on Muslim Affairs was carried to ensure compliance to HALAL requirements.

HALAL certification was conferred to MACS last October 10, 2003 making it the first in-flight catering Company in the Philippines to be HALAL certified.

Last December 05, 2003, the Office on Muslim Affairs spearheaded the first National Halal Conference in which MACS was highlighted as one of the few companies in the Philippines to be HALAL certified.

The most recent HALAL certification received by MACS last January 17, 2020 under its certifying body HALAL Development Institute of the Philippines (HDIP) which is one of the leading Halal Certifying bodies in the Philippines recognized by Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM), Majlis Ugama Islam Singapore (Muis Singapore), MRA-The Central Islamic Council of Thailand (CICOT), Majlis Ugama Indonesia (MUI), International Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA) and members of the World Halal Food Council (WHFC).

Having Food Safety as the backbone of its business, MACS had its in-flight and institutional catering services HACCP certified last August 20, 2004.

The certification was carried out in two stages, namely the adequacy audit and the implementation/verification audit which was carried last August 03, 2004 and August 18, 2004, respectively.

The firm was certified by Certification International, the same certifying body for its Quality Management System.

This certification makes MACS the only HACCP Certified In-flight catering unit in the Philippines.
